The new DOC Program Council consists of twelve senior advisors.
Berlin. 24.11.2016 “The mission of DOC clearly demonstrates its commitment to promoting mutual understanding among civilizations, which is a fundamental prerequisite for humankind’s inclusive development. To achieve this mission, the Program Council, composed of international business leaders and distinguished scholars, will be responsible for giving effective guidance and advice on the overall development of the DOC’s research agenda, while also promoting and disseminating DOC research results at national and international levels,” said DOC Research Director (Social and Culture) Jiahong Chen, who was responsible for developing the responsibilities for the Program Council.
The twelve senior advisors are: Akeel Bilgrami (USA/India), Jiahong Chen (China), Fred Dallmayr (USA), Christian W. Haerpfer (Austria), Anatol Lieven (UK), Walter Mignolo (Argentinia/USA), Manuel Montes (Philippines), Peimin Ni (China), Kees van der Pijl (Netherlands), Richard Sakwa (UK), Marietta Stepanyants (Russia) und Li Xin (China).
Each member of the Program Council has a different research area focus, ranging from Global Strategy and the War on Terror, to Institutions of Inclusive Development, to World-System Cultural Cycles in a Post-Hegemonic World and Comparative Democratization.
The Program Council provides strategic direction for DOC research agenda and advises on global research developments.
