December 12, Beijing – The Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC RI) is set to develop partnerships with Chinese major think tanks, following a series of meetings led by DOC last week in Beijing.
DOC RI and the China Investment Corporation expressed clear interest in further collaboration in the fields of research, as well as in economic and infrastructure development.
DOC RI will continue working with the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation social organisation, as part of an initiative that started between the Foundation and the World Public Forum covering a student exchange programme, joint research project, and roundtable at the annual Rhodes Forum.
DOC RI and a research team at the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China (Beijing) discussed three major topics:
1. One Belt one Road Initiative and infrastructure construction
2. The global economy
3. Communication and cooperation
They highlighted the great importance of finding an economic alternative to the inherited neo-liberal economic rationale.
At the People´s Daily, DOC RI Co-Founder Dr. Yakunin and the president of People’s Daily magazine Mr. Jia Lizheng discussed the transformation of a diversified world into a unitary one, and the rise in injustice and poverty as among the most significant consequences of globalisation.
DOC RI looks forward to these partnerships and to developing common research agendas.
