Jean-Christophe Bas, CEO of the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC), participated in several engaging activities in Moscow earlier this week. The highlight of the visit was a speech he gave at the Moscow School of Management (SKOLKOVO) as part of the Professional Education Program for Management. Bas shared his extensive management experience working with NGOs, think tanks, and intergovernmental and supranational institutions.
In cooperation with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, SKOLKOVO created the Professional Education Program for Management in order to provide NGOs access to services such as social management systems, restructuring of budgetary institutions, and attracting investments in the social sector. This program is aimed at deputy governors and ministers working in the social sector, representatives of budgetary institutions, and non-state service providers.
Following his speech, Mr Bas along with his DOC delegation which included Head of Moscow office, External Relations director Grigory Levchenko and Programme Manager Andrey Filippov, met with President of the SKOLKOVO Business School, Andrey Sharonov, and the Emerging Market Studies team, which includes Academic Director Alexey Kalinin; Managing Director Bulat Nureev; and the Head of China Unit, Oleg Remyga. Their discussion centered around cooperation between educational programmes including Geoeconomics, Migration, Eurasian Studies, Islamic economics, and the role of China in the global economy.
After the meeting, Bas conducted an interview with the Russian radio station ‘Echo of Moscow’, during which he discussed the DOC’s mission and activities, and how the organisation works to address some of the most pressing issues that Europe – and the world at large – are currently facing.
