The Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC), the independent non-partisan think tank based in Berlin, today announces a partnership with Diversity Atlas, the innovative digital tool for measuring workforce diversity developed by Australian social enterprise Cultural Infusion. The partnership will see Diversity Atlas showcased at the 2019 Rhodes Forum, the DOC’s flagship public event, which this year takes place on the Greek island of Rhodes on 11-12 October.
Cultural Infusion will present the tool to the Rhodes audience and demonstrate how organisations’ diversity and inclusion strategies can benefit from the data-driven insights that Diversity Atlas generates.
Diversity Atlas is an innovative, web-based tool that measures the cultural and demographic diversity of communities and organizations. Via a simple survey, it collects responses from participants and instantly analyses the extent and types of diversity within a population. The results are presented in the form of interactive info-graphics along with narrative key facts. The results generated by Diversity Atlas enable organizations to develop planning and engagement strategies that are based on the cultural, linguistic, and demographic make-up of a population.
Jean-Christophe Bas, CEO of the DOC, said:
“The DOC’s mission is all about facilitating and encouraging communication among diverse groups of people in order to overcome differences and find common solutions. Understanding the diversity of our societies is an important part of this. We are very pleased to welcome the Diversity Atlas team to this year’s Rhodes Forum, and look forward to using this valuable digital tool to discover more about ourselves and each other.”
Peter Mousaferiadis, CEO of Cultural Infusion, said:
“As an organisation that lives and breathes diversity, we are passionate believers in the power of cultural heritage as a key enabler of progress and innovation. Culture is at the heart of everything we do at Cultural Infusion, and it is our aim for Diversity Atlas to support organisations in exploring and embracing the power of diversity. The DOC is a similarly international and diverse organisation, and the Rhodes Forum brings together participants with a huge range of worldviews. We look forward to demonstrating Diversity Atlas to this distinguished audience.”
In addition to measuring diversity through its world leading diversity index weighted formula, the tool also enables the comparison of diversity profiles at different points in time, amongst different groups, and against future targets. At its heart, Diversity Atlas aims to empower organizations to engage with, celebrate and leverage the power of diversity to achieve a range of goals for communities and institutions, and to explore different approaches to creating harmonious intercultural environments. Diversity Atlas gathers data from volunteers anonymously and securely, with strict privacy and data control certificates.
The 2019 Rhodes Forum aims to facilitate a better understanding of the deep changes our societies are undergoing. It will shed light on initiatives that contribute substantially towards sustainable economic development; propose new concepts for the architecture of international governance in the context of shifts in power within the global economy; and it will examine the restoration of civility and promotion of ethical standards in the digital age.
Since 2003 the Rhodes Forum has brought together leaders from the business, academic, diplomatic and political communities, including current and former heads of state and government, to discuss crucial issues facing the world today. Throughout its history, its hallmark has been the pioneering spirit, inclusiveness, and moral resilience of its participants in their work to tackle the problems we face.
