The Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC), the independent non-partisan think tank based in Berlin, is pleased to announce that it has signed a partnership agreement for this year’s Rhodes Forum with Rödl & Partner, the leading German integrated audit, legal, management and tax consulting firm.
Rödl & Partner will host a panel discussion at the Rhodes Forum on the integration of Eurasian and European economies under the heading “Economic order seen from a business perspective”. Dr Andreas Knaul, Partner at Rödl & Partner, will speak alongside leading businessmen and academics working across Eurasia. The session will be moderated by Stefan Grobe, Brussels correspondent of Euronews.
Carl Drexler, Development Director of the DOC, said:
“The big-picture issues addressed at the Rhodes Forum are of critical importance to the business community. By bringing the relevant stakeholders and decision-makers around the table, the DOC aims to facilitate the business community’s participation in developing responsible and effective policy suggestions.”
Dr Andreas Knaul, Partner at Rödl, said:
“Cooperation between business and think tanks is essential to combatting the issues faced by our societies and our planet. In a world facing so many pressing problems, the business community must work in harmony with think tanks and other stakeholders to find the great ideas that can be acted upon, resulting in action and change.”
The 17th edition of the Rhodes Forum – titled “Global (dis)order: Towards dialogue-based worldviews” – takes place on the Greek island of Rhodes on 11-12 October 2019. This year the Forum takes the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall to examine the deep changes our societies and our world are undergoing, under three headings:
- Sustainable economic development;
- Global architecture and global (geo)politics; and
- Digitalised lives, ethical standards, and the revival of civility.
