This is a joint announcement by the DOC and the Brazzaville Foundation.
The Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC) and the Brazzaville Foundation (BF) have agreed to work together on a range of issues, notably in the field of conflict prevention and health, with a particular focus on Africa.
The objectives of this partnership include promoting policy dialogue and advocacy on problems that affect the African continent, including religious and ethnic conflicts, the fight against the traffic of substandard and falsified medicines, including the Lomé Initiative developed by the Brazzaville Foundation, and the role of African countries in the multilateral world order.
For 2020, the two organisations have agreed to cooperate on the preparation of a meeting to promote reconciliation and rapprochement in Libya and to cooperate on other issues relating to the African continent, including panel discussions at the Rhodes Forum.
The MoU was signed by the CEO of the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute, Jean-Christophe Bas, and Sir David Richmond, CEO of the Brazzaville Foundation.
“The Brazzaville Foundation was one of DOC ‘s partners at the Rhodes Forum 2019. Both organisations therefore know each other well and have already established common ground for a fruitful partnership. The Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute will use its experience and methodology to support the Brazzaville Foundation’s initiatives, for example in promoting reconciliation and rapprochement in Libya”, says Jean-Christophe Bas.
The Founder and Chairman of the Brazzaville Foundation, Jean-Yves Ollivier, who is also a member of the DOC Supervisory Board, said:
“I warmly welcome this new partnership with the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute. The two organisations share many of the same objectives and I look forward to pooling our knowledge and experience to enhance the work of both.”
