In 1984 – 1987 Giovanni Cubeddu was a member of the Faculty Council and member of the University Sport Council of Universita' di Roma – Tor Vergata. Later he was a member of press office of the Christian Democrat Party (1989) and editor of Internal affairs and law reports for Il Sabato, national weekly of politics, economics, religious affairs (1990).
In 1993 Giovanni Cubeddu became editor of 30Giorni and in 1994 he was appointed as Vice-Director of “30Giorni”. In 1994 – 1997 he served as founder of the publishing company “Trenta Giorni” and President of the Board of Directors; from 2000 until 2012 he was member of its Board of Directors.
In 2007 he was appointed as Chairman of the associazione Cattolici Amici d’Israele - (Catholics friends of Israel) and became founder and member of the Board of Directors of “Amerigo”, the Italian Association of the Italian alumni of the State Department Cultural Exchange programs.
Since 2009 Giovanni Cubeddu is a member of the International Coordination Committee of the World Public Forum – Dialogue of Civilizations. In 2012 he was appointed in the Scientific Committee of ISAG - Istituto di Alti Studi in Geopolitica e Scienze Ausiliarie.
In 2012 he became Director of Cinitalia, the only bilingual official magazine of China Radio International/Gbtimes for Institutions in China and italy.
He promoted the Italy China Media Committe in cooperation with the Media Dept of the Prime Minister office.
As journalist, Giovanni Cubeddu interviewed Shimon Peres, Muhammad Khatami, Abu Mazen, Mikhail Gorbachev, Yasser Arafat, Yitzhak Shamir, Hashemi Rafsanjani, Colin Powell, D. Sassou n’Guesso, Patriarch Alexi II, Wang Chen, Amre Moussa, Ahmet Davutoglu
