Matteo Bonomi was formerly a research associate at the DoC Research Institute. His professional experience has been increasingly related to EU enlargement policy, in particular to the Balkan - EU integration process. Matteo has worked and cooperated with various institutes, think tanks, foundations and administrative agencies in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania. In 2017, he was a Visiting Fellow at Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP), Brussels’ Office, and policy analyst for Populari, an independent think tank based in Sarajevo. In 2016 he worked for the European Policy Centre (EPC), a leading think tank in EU affairs based in Brussels, where he supported the European Politics and Institutions Programme and Balkans activities. He holds a PhD in Politics, Human Rights and Sustainability from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, Italy. He also holds two MA degrees, one from the European College Foundation in Parma, which focused on the institutions, politics, economics and legal aspects of the EU and another in Political Philosophy from Milano's University San Raffaele, in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Florence.
