Ioannis Flevaris was born in Rhodes, from Rhodian parents, Stergos Flevaris, President of the Community of Kalithion Rhodes and Anastasia Hatzidiakou, professor of Philology, Director of the Kalithion High School. He graduated from the 2nd High School of Rhodes in 1986. In the same year he was enrolled at the school of Law of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki and graduated in 1991. He successfully completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Aegean for “Political and Social Institutions in the Mediterranean during Antiquity”.
He completed his military service in the Greek Army and was dismissed as a Surrogate Lieutenant of the Infantry in 1993. He is enrolled in the Law Society of Rhodes and since 1992 and today he is a lawyer of the Supreme Court with experience in important matters.
Married with Paraskeui Athanasaki daughter of Savvas , a physician with specialty in biopathology – microbiology from Lardos Rhodes and have two children.He is an active member of associations with sporting and social activities. After the Kapodistrian Municipality of Kallithea Rhodes on 1-1-1999, was created and since the foundation of the Municipality until 31/12/2010, it is constantly elected Municipal Councilor and he serves the local government. In the Municipal elections in October 1998 he was a Mayor candidate and head of a Municipal councilor. During the municipal period 2003-2006 he served as Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Kallithea in the Administration Department, Chairman of the Mayoral Committee and member of the Council of Civil Protection of the Municipality. During the municipal period 2007 – 2010 he served as Chairman of the Municipal Council, Chairman of the Municipal Education Committee and Chairman of the Municipal Environmental Agency. In the municipal elections of November 2010, was elected first of preference as Municipal councilor of Rhodes, headed by candidate Mayor Mr. George Chatzimarkos and now Regional Governor of the South Aegean. It is constantly actively involved in Local Government and on issues related to the Country and society. In the May 2014 Regional elections, was elected first of preference and from September 2014 until today he is Deputy Head of the Refectory of the South Aegean in the Development and Environment Directorates of Dodecanese and Cyclades.
