Alberto Quattrucci is General Secretary of Men and Religions for Community of Sant’Egidio. He studied Pedagogy at the Faculty of Magisterium and Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, specialising in Sacred Scripture. Quattrucci developed his studies together with a continuous commitment to many social and cultural fields, such as the history of religions, interreligious and intercultural dialogue. He has worked intensely – particularly in the last fifteen years – in the resolutions of various conflicts, particularly in Asia.
Since 1969 he has been involved in the worldwide commitment of the Community of Sant’Egidio and since 1988 he has been General Secretary of the ‘International Peoples and Religions Meetings’. Quattrucci has been working since 1987 to promote and organise International Meetings for Peace. Since 1987 he has also led relations between the Community of Sant’Egidio and Japan, in the ecumenical sector and in interreligious dialogue, in the cultural and political fields, as well as in the social and human rights fields.
