General Secretary of Men and Religions – Community of Sant’Egidio. He studied Pedagogy at the Faculty of Magisterium and Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University (specializing in Sacred Scripture).
He developed his studies together with a continuous commitment in many social and cultural fields, such as History of Religions, Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue. He has worked intensely – particularly in the last fifteen years – in the resolutions of various conflicts, particularly in Asia.
Since 1969 he has been involved in the worldwide commitment of the Community of Sant’Egidio and since 1988 he has been General Secretary of the “International Peoples and Religions Meetings”.
Alberto Quattrucci has been working since 1987 to promote and organize International Meetings for Peace. From the same year, on an ongoing basis, he takes care of relations between the Community of Sant’Egidio and Japan, in the ecumenical sector and in interreligious dialogue, in the cultural and political fields as well as in the social and human rights fields.
