Mr Pavithra Kumar R (Age-47), is the Chief Program Director at Tata Trusts operations in South India. In this position, he is responsible for the oversight of all the Trusts’ Programs across all programmatic themes, such as education, health and livelihoods with the respective thematic leads reporting into him.
Prior to this, he was leading implementation of key Trusts’ programs across India. A versatile resource, he has been instrumental in putting together the team in Andhra Pradesh and operationalising the MoU signed with the State Government in 2015. A Project Management Unit (PMU) was set up under him to facilitate development of 265 villages in-line with the Smart Village Smart Ward scheme of the state government, along with state-wide thematic areas such as WASH, Nutrition, Rural Internet, Fisheries, Digital initiatives, Aadhar enabled Fertilizer Distribution System (AeFDS), Education, Livelihood development, Health initiatives, Health Insurance. He played a key role in the expansion of the multi thematic operations in Karnataka from Yadgir district to the entire Hyderabad – Karnataka region. Within a short span he has been able to develop strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and has won many accolades from several State Governments, including the recent honour of “Best partner” from the Hon’ CM of AP for the Smart Village Initiative.
Having experience in rolling out high intensity engagements across multiple states, he comes with a good blend of design and implementation skills. He comes with 23 years of experience in the Finance function and Social development sector. Prior to joining the Tata Trusts he was with Tata Communications Limited Mumbai where he held various positions, including Chief Financial Officer in a Telecom subsidiary at Nepal besides handling portfolios in Corporate Finance, Strategy, Financial Planning & Analysis. He was also part of the core team that was involved in GDRs & ADRs and several Mergers and Acquisitions. He is an Associate Member of ICWAI, M.Com and MBA in Finance. He is also associated with several not for profit organisations and program initiatives that are supported by the Trusts.
