The International Scientific Conference “One Problem – Three Dimensions” will be held from 28 to 29 June in Nizhny Novgorod.
The purpose of the conference is to unite the efforts of Americanists, Europeanists and Orientalists in the consideration of current problems of modern world politics, and contribute to the formation of a unified picture of the world, taking into account an understanding of regional specifics in various historical, socio-political, economic and methodological contexts.
Organizers – Lobachevsky University (Nizhniy Novgorod National University), Institute of International Relations and World History, Faculty of Social Sciences, Lobachevsky University, “Dialogue of Civilizations” Research Institute, Nizhny Novgorod Research and Information Center, Association of European Studies, Russian Association of historians of Americanists, Orientalists Association, Russian Society of Political Scientists, Russian Historical Society.
Innovative approach – leaders of the expert-analytical community, representing different professional associations, discuss specific issues of the current international agenda. The conference brings together the efforts of universities, academies of sciences and civil society institutions. Among the participants of the conference are humanities teachers of schools in the Nizhny Novgorod region, members of the University cluster.
The conference will be organized within the sections “Again on Security: Hard, Soft, Smart … what’s NEXT?”, “Actual Problems of American Studies”, “Actual Problems of European Studies”, “Actual Problems of Oriental Studies” and “Actual Problems of Studying the Modern Political Process” “. A joint section of youth departments of the Russian Society of Political Scientists and the Russian Historical Society will also be organized.
Panel discussions are planned: “New research agenda of humanities scholars: tasks and problems” and “What can humanitarians do for the University? Today. Tomorrow. Never”.
The round tables will be held on the topics: “Isolationism. What’s next?”, “Who plays in the Middle East?”, “How do you manage migration processes?” and “The Balkans: Between Past and Future.”
In addition, there will be a presentation of the Department of Social Security and Humanitarian Technologies of the Lobachevsky University.
