Dr. Ruth Kattumuri, founder and co-director, India Observatory Centre at the London School of Economics to speak at Delhi Policy Dialogue of DOC RI on June 22 in New Delhi.
Delhi Policy Dialogue (DpD) is a joint initiative of Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC RI) and Dainik Bhaskar, one of them largest media houses, to offer a platform to policy makers, the UN and its agencies, civil society organizations, think tanks and private sector organisations to discuss issues related to policy formulations and impact assessment of common issues in need of joint discussions and collaborative solutions.
The forum is held every month in New Delhi to promote and propagate the idea of dialogue as a means to find solutions to key issues of contemporary relevance and find collaborative solutions.
Following on from the initial two successful events, the third edition of the forum, being held on June 22, will be addressed by Dr. Ruth Kattumuri, founder and co-director, India Observatory Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science on the theme of “Information Technology as a Tool for Governance”.
These special lectures delivered by key speakers every month will be compiled in the form of policy blueprints and presented to the Indian government for its consideration of the outcome for purposes of policy inputs on key issues facing India.
DpD was launched in April in New Delhi with Ashok Pavadia, a former additional secretary to the Government of India delivering the inaugural address on the theme on ‘Democracy and leadership’ attended by 81 senior representatives from various walks of life.
Second edition of the Dialogue was held in May with Padma Bhusan awardee Bindeshwar Pathak addressing the forum on the theme of ” Sustainable Development Goals and India’s socio- economic development goals” attended by 91 senior representatives from government, private sector, academic institutions and UN entities.
This forum, first of its kind both in terms of substance and scale, has been instituted by DOC RI in close collaboration with Dainik Bhaskar and is partnered with by Nagrik Foundation, a leading Indian non-profit organization.
