Registration is closed

63

Contemporary migration plays a substantial role in the formation of the cultural, economic, and social landscapes of Eastern Russia. Large inflows of people and investment could have a positive effect on development.

State bodies, academic institutions, and non-governmental organisations are currently meeting the need for cultural, educational, and economic programmes that support migrants’ adaptation into the receiving society.

Roundtable participants will discuss strategies of interaction with migrants in Eastern Russia, and will particularly look at the key migration trends in the region.

Discussion points:

  • State and non-governmental development programmes for regional migration policies.
  • The advantages and disadvantages of the main interaction strategies.
  • Prospects for labour migration and development in Eastern Russia.
  • Ethnic, cultural, and religious aspects of migrants’ adaptation.
