On February 27-28 the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC) held a round-table discussion on ‘Foreign Actors in the Syrian Conflict, 2017′.
The round table examined the dynamics and the positions of external actors involved in the Syrian conflict, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Russia, the United States, and European countries.
The event brought together renowned experts on the Middle East with different national backgrounds, including Mohammad-Reza Raouf-Sheibani, former Iranian Ambassador to Syria and senior expert on the Middle East at the MFA; Dr. Khalid Abalhassan, Head of Conflict Resolution Unit, Center of Information & Arabian-Russian Studies (CIARS), Riyadh Office, Saudi Arabia; Dr. Ariel Cohen, Senior Fellow, Atlantic Council USA; Dr. Agnes Levallois from FRS -Fondation pour la Recherche Strategique; Dr. Hans Köchler, President of the International Progress Organization; Dr. Vladimir Ahmedov from the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Oytun Orhan, Researcher, Center for Middle Eastern Strategic Studies, Turkey; Fawaz Tello, Syrian Opposition Politician; Writer, analyst and researcher; and Dr. Alexey Malashenko from the DOC.
