Johannes Jäger


    Professor and Economics coordinator at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna. His research interests focus on critical international political economy, global finance, regional development, European integration and Latin America.  He edited one of his latest books together with Elisabeth Springler on ‘Asymmetric Crisis in Europe and Possible Futures” (Routledge 2015).

    Johannes Jäger is Professor and Economics coordinator at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna. His research interests focus on critical international political economy, global finance, regional development, European integration and Latin America.  He is a member of the board of directors at the Mattersburger Kreis for Development Policy at the Austrian Universities, located in Vienna. Moreover, he is at the editorial board of the Journal für Entwicklungspolitik / Austrian Journal of Development Studies. Formerly, he was Assistant Professor at the Institute for International Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and researcher at the Institute for Urban and Regional Research at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. He obtained his Master’s degree (1996) and his PhD (2001) in economics with distinction at the University of Economics and Business Administration, Vienna.  His most recent publications include:
